Jesus has come to serve. He shows us how to serve first by washing the feet of the Apostles. Furthermore, He tells us, that if we are not willing to serve, there is no room in His Kingdom for us. He set the example and we are to follow. Service flows out of a loving heart. Service is the translation of Grace in our hearts. When we serve we let others see how strong our commitment to God is, and how willing we are to be a true disciple of Christ. We may ask in which ways can we serve in our Church. The answer will be that all of our beings must be willing to serve. We must serve with our thoughts by wishing well upon others. We must serve with our tongues not by lashing out harsh criticism, but by engaging in a constructing dialogue. We must serve with our hands by keeping our Church clean. We must serve with our feet by taking communion to the sick, for example. Sin is the opposite of service. When we turn around and attack someone who serves, we are really embracing a sinful attitude. If you open your mouth to poison some else’s heart, you are doing a dis-service. Instead to appreciating the goodness of any given person, the effort and dedication to serve in the Church, just because something is not of your liking, you let your criticism flow like the amazon river. It is indeed shameful that anyone in our Beloved Catholic Church should dare to even point a finger to anyone who is trying to serve. Instead to pointing out your finger, please sit down to reflect how are you serving in our Church. What is your service to God, to Christ and to your brothers and sisters like? Why don’t you start by giving witness of your intention to serve? Withdraw your tongue. Withdraw your unchristian thoughts. May your tongue be found ready to praise, to offer help, to serve God with love. Run to offer help. Vow before dedication and let your heart be filled with loving support. Do not let yourself forget, ever, that we are here to serve, and even with all that we do, Jesus reminds us that we are only poor servants.
